Purpose

We try to search for purpose within us, thinking if we can understand ourselves better, we can figure what we want in life and our calling. But purpose is never within us to begin with. Purpose is external. Tom Rath said in his book It's Not About You that you are what you invest in the world outside of you. Meaning of life lies outside of the self.  By thinking about others, by contributing to those around you, you fill yourself with the joy of being useful and self worth, knowing that you are capable of delivering value to others.  So ask yourself, ' How can I contribute to other today?'.  May you find fulfillment in helping others live better and helping others discover and find their own talents.

It may get you started but it's also very fleeting and unreliable. Mr Motivation may set you in motion running 2km a day, but what happens on the 3rd day when you weigh in expectantly and see barely any results? Results is not instantaneous - something we have accustomised to and grow to expect in this new high tech era. You can't become smarter just  by downloading a book, you got to read it.
